Handle booking changes and cancellations from one place, with calendar and pricing updates applied automatically.
When a guest wants to change their booking — different dates, an extended or shortened stay, or a guest count change — an alteration request appears in the reservation.
Alteration statuses:
Pending — waiting for your response
Approved — you accepted the change
Declined — you rejected the change
Expired — no response was given in time
Review the request, then approve or decline. If approved, the reservation updates and the calendar adjusts automatically. The price difference is recalculated based on the new dates or guest count.
Guest cancellations are handled through the platform's cancellation policy. Hosto reflects the cancellation and frees up the dates automatically.
Host cancellations can be initiated from the reservation detail page. Be aware that most platforms penalize host cancellations with lower search ranking and potential fees.
Cancellation policies (Flexible, Moderate, Strict, etc.) are configured on the platform, not in Hosto. Your platform settings determine what the guest is refunded.
When a reservation is cancelled, the dates become available again and any pending automated messages for that booking are cancelled.
Warning: Host cancellations can result in penalties on Airbnb and Vrbo, including lower search ranking and potential fees. Only cancel when absolutely necessary.
